For various reasons people and companies choose for a future abroad in a similar country like the Netherlands. Henneken International Removers, founded in 1870, is the Dutch market leader in weekly full service shipments to and from the United Kingdom. We also provide services like packing and unpacking moving boxes, (dis)assembling furniture and handyman service for hanging curtains, paintings and lighting. In Holland we are a reward winning company in our sector.
Join us for removal partnerships to the Netherlands
We would like to encourage British moving companies to join us for partnerships. Take advantage of our 150 years of experience. Our staff is good at speaking and writing in English and they are familiar with the British way of life. Send us an email or call us if you have intentions to spread your activities abroad!
Since 2003 we run a weekly service from Holland to the UK and back, with trucks in both countries. We carry out approximately 450 shipments per year to and from the UK, mostly in the London and the Midlands area, but also Scotland (once every three weeks on average) and Ireland (once every three weeks on average).
Our customer satisfaction rate for international work, is 9.5 out of 10. We like to offer good value for money. We work with experienced drivers/porters, a 440-container warehouse and 10 trucks and trailers.
Being ready for the Brexit as an international moving company
Brexit will probably bring changes in the moving business. Things will depend on all Brexit negotiations and decisions. If it’s a hard Brexit we may see many moves in the short term since many companies and EU citizens will leave Britain. In the long run this will affect our business strongly in a negative way since the flow of people to Britain will drop sharply due to stricter settlement rules for EU citizens and less business activity in Britain which could attract EU workers.
With a soft Brexit the consequences don’t have to be negative. Britain will still be a large economy and London will still remain one of the financial capitals of the world. The number of moves would still go down a bit because of stricter settlement rules, but we are confident we can cope with that. The cake may get a bit smaller, but it is up to us and probably your company to get a bigger slice of it!
Develop international removal challenges with a strong partner
In 2017, the moves we carried out back to Holland even surpassed the number of moves to the UK. So, it is unlikely that these trends are Brexit-related since many of these moves are returning customers and of course they tend to call us for the move back as they were happy with our original services. Another fact is the customs change after the Brexit. Transport will take more time, which has a consequence in time for us and our customers.
We are preparing for Brexit by turning our warehouse into a customs-bonded building, we foresee many shipments will have to be stored first before they can be customs cleared. That’s why we will be well prepared for customs procedures and documentation, and we like to improve our contacts with British trade partners.
